Everything's changing, we gotta move on.

Alright story, what's the folks?

12.3.08

well... today was stupid.

my parents wanted to go to batam really really early today, so they booked the 8.30 ferry. and we usually take the 9.30 one.

so i had to get up at like 6... which is more than an hour earlier than my usual waking time. and it was still dark out there.

and blah blah blah. we arrived at batam, where it was raining.

the taxi driver told us that it had been raining the entire morning, and we were like, "wow! we've hardly seen that happen in batam before!"

and i mean it. i've been going to that island since i was about 9 or 10, and i hardly even experienced rain. even drizzling was rare. my dad, who goes to batam at least once a week since about ten years ago, even commented that such rain was uncommon.

so, on our way to the shipyard, we had to turn back. because of FLOODING. apparently, the flood was so bad it reached all the way up to the chest. yeah.

the taxi dropped us off at waterfront city, where we waited for the rain to stop, as well as some of my dad's employees. and we spent like nearly 3 hours there. we reached batam at 9.30, and we left that place at 12 plus, maybe one. what a time waster.

so, on our way to the shipyard, we saw the part that remained flooded. i wasn't really sure how high that pool of water was, but when you were sitting on a motorcycle, the water reached all the way up to the thighs. there was a huge truck stuck in the middle of the pool. then we saw a motorcycle trying to drive through the flood. his engine was flooded, and then it gave out. he had to walk through the entire flood pushing the motorcycle. two more trucks drove past (they were the 4WD kind) and of course succeeded. then we saw other motorcycles deciding to try. it was pretty hilarious. they had like big shit-eating grins on their faces, and were all driving through the flood, with a huge group of audience looking at them. some succeeded, some failed.
there were some which drove through nearly the entire pool, but because of a slight jam up ahead, they had to stop in the pool and that caused their engines to give out.

that was like the only highlight of the day. i didn't even get to eat lunch.

and we could only take the 4.50pm ferry back, due to the stupid rain.

and we usually took the 3.30pm ferry.

i wish i never had to go batam again.

and my mom doesn't want to give me a one week mc like what the dentist advised after my wisdom teeth extraction tomorrow. has she heard how painful it was going to be??

she should go extract hers, and continue working after that.

she actually wanted me to work tomorrow, after my surgery. hah! and got scolded by my dad.

i love my dad. lol. even he knew that it was going to be bloody painful.

and for me... i'm scared. i've never undergone a surgery before, i've never undergone anaesthetia...

and i hate needles. and the feeling of not knowing what is going to happen to me. and that i'll wake up in the middle of the operation.
